Styled Shoot | Cherry Blossom

I’m not going to lie, I was a little nervous when The Party B’s asked me to lead shoot this dreamy styled shoot at Union House as the vision board was so different from the rest of my work in my portfolio at the time. However, NEVER will you hear me say that I regret taking the opportunity and joining the shoot. In the midst of altering my shooting style to more using more flash and taking a more documentary approach to my work, it really gave me a nice opportunity to challenge myself with working with a color I don’t photograph often- pastel pinks. I didn’t realize until after the session that I hadn’t really photographed pinks too often and my editing style was definitely challenged by this. I learned a lot by editing these and I have to say that I definitely came out stronger in the end for it and to that I am forever grateful.

The styled shoot itself was so dreamy with all of the pastel colors and all of the fun things we were able to create during sunset. Some of my most ethereal wedding images to date were taken during this session and to say I am obsessed with them is an understatement. Although using harsh flash for the majority of the shoot wasn’t really working out the way I wanted it to, I was still able to get a few in that I really enjoyed. I also took a few 3d film pictures this time and that’s definitely something I will be incorporating into wedding days from now on.

The styled shoot was shot on 35mm film and digital. These images were exclusively taken by myself and do not include images taken by any other photographer in attendance that day.
