Styled Shoot | Modern Fruits + Veggies
I am obsessed with all the little details from a recent styled shoot I attended at The Emerson in Kaufman, Tx. When Emily and I originally spoke about our work to each other, we both knew we wanted to bring something new to the wedding scene in Dallas/ Fort Worth. For me, this means tailoring my work to be more spunky and aim to represent the non-traditional bride that often goes unnoticed in DFW. Most weddings you’ll see pictures of are either very boho, super southern or extremely clean cut. There is a whole subset of brides that often get left out of this and that is who my targeted audience will be going forward. With this shoot, I was really hoping to incorporate more flash work into my portfolio as well as to showcase some alternatives to traditional bridal florals. If you are the super spunky, fun, outgoing, dare I say weird kind or couple or bride, then you’re in the right place.
Once Emily told me she found a florist that was interested in teaming up to create a bouquet that was primarily fruits and veggies, I was 1,000 times sold on the idea of this styled shoot. Working with Mel and getting to document her beautifully and intricately crafted bouquet, was such a dream. I hope I get the opportunity to work with her again in the future as well as any brides that are interested in fruit or veggie bouquets instead of the traditional bridal bouquet- not that there is anything wrong with them.
The styled shoot was shot on both 35mm film and digital. These images are taken by myself exclusively and do not include the images Emily took during the session.
