Wedding at Union House | Katie + Dillon

Katie + Dillon’s wedding day started differently than any other wedding i’ve photographed yet. What was supposed to be their best day ever, nearly turned into the worst when the bride and bridesmaids got into a major car wreck pulling into the venue the morning of. As soon as I heard the news, I went running to the entrance of the venue to check to make sure everyone was okay and thankfully, this was the case. After the wreck got cleaned up and police reports had been taken, the day continued as planned. This definetely affected the day as a whole as it had the bridal party extremely shaken up and really greatful to be in the presence of all of their loved ones as it reminded them of how things can change in the blink of an eye.

Aside from how the day started, this was one of the more spunky weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Since Katie is my stepsister, I’ve got to admit I hve a soft spot for this one but it was so much fun! Every little detail was planned out to put the couples’ little touch on things- from the dogs on the cake looking like theirs at home, to the ring bearer bringing the rings down the isle dressed as a hockey player.

This wedding was photographed on 35mm and 120mm film as well as digitally.
